Iran-Backed Leader Warns of Revenge If Targeted by US Military

The leader of Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels warned that American forces who target the country will be targeted by the militant group, coming after the U.S. announced an effort to respond to recent Houthi attacks on commercial ships. 

"We will not stand idly by if the Americans are tempted to escalate further and commit foolishness by targeting our country or waging war against it," Abdel-Malek al-Houthi, the leader, said in a televised speech Wednesday, reported the Reuters newswire service.

Colorado GOP to Change to Caucus System, Ditch Primary If Trump Kept Off Ballot

The Colorado Republican Party indicated that it would switch from a primary ballot system to a caucus system if former President Donald Trump is kept off state ballots.

On Dec. 19, the Colorado Supreme Court barred President Trump from appearing on state ballots in a 4–3 decision. 

On Dec. 20, GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy criticized the court decision, threatening to withdraw from the Colorado GOP primary until President Trump is also allowed on the ballot. 

In response, the Colorado Republican Party wrote in a Dec. 20 post on X, formerly known as Twitter, 

“You won't have to because we will withdraw from the Primary as a Party and convert to a pure caucus system if this is allowed to stand.”

Court to Identify Over 150 People Linked to Jeffrey Epstein

A federal judge has ruled that many names linked to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein will be made public in the future. 

The identities of 156 people, including associates of Mr. Epstein, will be disclosed in previously redacted documents, U.S. District Judge Loretta Preska ruled on Dec. 18. 

The ruling came in a case brought against Mr. Epstein's associate Ghislaine Maxwell, who in 2022 was convicted of sex trafficking and sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Israeli President Vows to 'Take Over Entire Gaza Strip'

The president of Israel has vowed to conquer the Gaza Strip, destroy Hamas, and sort out peace between Israelis and Palestinians at a later date. 

Now that Israeli forces had “completed the total conquest” of key areas in northern Gaza, it would move to subdue the entire territory, said Israeli President Isaac Herzog.
